The Saucy Chicken has to be my favorite chicken dish. It tastes tangy, yet so sweet and spicy. This dish is what I call finger lickin’ good. You have to try it to know how good it tastes.
It is so versatile that you can have it with rice, roti, or just on its own.
Here is how you can cook it at home:
Serves – 3
Prep time – 10 mins
Cooking time – 20 minutes
- Chicken – 500 grams
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Ginger paste – 1/2 tbsp
- Garlic paste – 1/2 tbsp
- Tomato puree – of 3 medium-sized tomatoes
- Yogurt – 1/2 cup
- Salt – as per taste
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp or as per your taste
- Green chilis – 3 – 4
- mayonnaise – 1/4 cup
- Ketchup – 1/4 cup
Heat oil in a wok, fry the ginger and garlic paste. Add the chicken in the wok and cook on high flame till the chicken turns white.
Then turn the flame to medium-low, add the tomato puree, yogurt, salt and red chili powder, and cook till the chicken is almost cooked.
Lastly add the mayonnaise, ketchup, and green chilies. Cook on high flame for a minute till everything is well combined the oil shows up.
Serve it with plain steamed rice, or roti, or have it own its own. I am sure you will love it. 😀
