Everyone loves pizzas, but everyone has has their own preferences when it comes to their perfect pizza. Some like a thin crust, whereas some prefer a thick one. Some like a loaded pizza with different vegetables and meat toppings. While others like a minimalist pizza with basic tomato sauce and cheese.
I like my pizza to have a thin and crisp crust, with just basic toppings of cheese and tomato sauce, and little to no meat topping. I have added pepperoni for my recipe today.

Prep time – 1 hour
Cooking time – 15 mins
Makes 2 medium sized thin crust pizzas
- Flour – 2 cups
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Sugar – 1/2 tbsp
- Instant yeast – 1.5 tsp
- Warm water – as needed
For Tomato Sauce-
- Tomatoes – 4 medium sized
- Salt – as per your taste
- Black pepper – 1/2 tsp or as per your taste
- Dried Oregano – 1 pinch
- Dried basil – 1 pinch
- Red chili flakes – 1 pinch
- Olive oil – 2 tsp
- Pepperoni slices – as many as you like 😉
- Cheese – I used a combination of mozzarella and Scottish cheddar.
In a big bowl, add flour, salt, oil sugar and yeast. Mix everything. Now gradually add warm water and form a dough. Knead the dough well for 5 minutes till it is smooth. Cover and set aside for an hour, for it to rise. Once risen, punch it down and divide into two dough balls. One dough ball will make a medium sized thin crust pizza.
For the tomato sauce-
In boiling water blanch the tomatoes till the peels can come off easily. Dont over boil them. Remove the peels of tomatoes and deseed them. Now blend the tomatoes.
In a sauce pan, over medium heat add olive oil and blended tomatoes. Season it with the all the spices. Stir it till combined and remove from heat. Dont cook it for more than 2 minutes.
Assembling the pizza-
Preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius.
Roll out the dough ball into a thin, 8 – 9 inches round. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on it. Dont spread a lot of it, otherwise the pizza base will become soggy.
Top it with pepperoni and cheese. Bake the pizza for 10 – 15 minutes.
Let the pizza rest for 5 minutes before serving. Drizzle little olive oil and serve. 😀
